Mandalas have always intrigued me, and now they are creeping into my Zentangles. This one was taken from a free coloring page, and I added the tangles, the color and the shading. I’m trying to figure out an accurate way to draw them from scratch.
I think they are going to be a little like the “potato chip” thing, you can’t do just one.

ReplyDeleteThis is just so beautiful!! i love love LOVE the zentangle mandala idea. I think they're so stunning!
ReplyDeleteWow - and you say this is an EARLY mandala form Zentangle for you? I can't wait to see more!
ReplyDeleteOne of the things that I have done is to create templates for my mandalas and then using Velumn to draw the actual Zendala. I have to leave extra space on the sides of the Zendala, though, because I might want to mount it, and with velumn, it is easier to make a frame over the extra than to try to glue or pin it on another foundation.
ReplyDeleteLove your Zendala.
What a beautiful mandala! Be careful, though. I started drawing mandalas last month and I can't stop!!!
ReplyDeleteOhhh.. I like, a lot! :] I've wanted to try these in the past. I will soon enough.
ReplyDeleteJoni, This mandala is beautiful and I am looking forward to seeing more!
