I'm calling this one "string of pearls" It is 8x10 on vellum finished bristle board. Colored with Bic fine tipped markers.
I thought you might want to see the in progress photos I took, while doing my challenge this time.
This is after shading.
I had some fun playing with my photo editing software and got these two images.
This has an effect called "swirl",
Rather appropriate for this challenge.
This has an effect called "mirror"
They both are made from the original black and white ZIA.
One could spend hours just playing with our drawings.
Thank you Laura for another wonderful challenge.
Wow, Joni. You did an awesome thing with Coaster in a spiral. I'll be trying that soon. Thanks for sharing all your play!
ReplyDeleteHah, fun!! And the coaster in a spiral really is neat
ReplyDeleteVery nice. I love the black and white. Very funny mirror effect.
ReplyDeleteLovely results. The coaster spiral is indeed very cool! The mirror is great!
ReplyDeleteSo much inspiration here! Thank you.

Breath taking detail. I love the colors and the shading.
ReplyDeleteWow, I love this. So, you shade it and then you color it in? I haven't done much with color yet other than drawing with colored pens instead of black or sepia.
ReplyDeleteThese are great, love your process and the addtion of color is yummy. Beautiful work!
ReplyDeleteBeautiful! Love the colors!!!
ReplyDeleteWOW! Coolness
ReplyDeleteI love this! The color work is great!
ReplyDeleteBeautiful work, Joni! I enjoyed seeing all the before and after also. I don't have photo editing software, but it looks like a lot of fun!
ReplyDeleteYes, you did have fun with this challenge! Great creativity. Love the swirl.
ReplyDeleteGreat Sprial designs. This looks great with color! Thanks for visiting my Blog. You made a comment that my spirals all went in the same direction. Funny thing all the tangles I have done the spirals all go in the same direction through my whole sketchbook. I will have to go the other direction just to try it out. LOL!
ReplyDeleteThe color piece is gorgeous. Wow, great job with the markers!
ReplyDeleteYou have given me so many good ideas to try...using photo techniques and the before/after shading. Love your work!
ReplyDeleteWonderful, and lovely to see all the possibilities with photo editing software.
ReplyDeleteIt's a real treat. Thanks!
Wonderful! I love the color. Maybe one day I'll work up the nerve. It is helpful to know that you shade first before the color. So fun!
ReplyDeleteJoni, your experiments are great, but your coloured design is FABULOUS! *G*
