Weekly Challenge #3

Our Task this week was to draw a string with our eyes wide Shut! Yikes! Inspired by the excellent result our challenge host, Laura had from her string… where she found that if you persevere success can be achieved, I blindly forged ahead (literally). This tile is the result. It’s not my favorite Zentangle ever, but I was impressed with the way I could make something out of a really crummy string (I draw much better with my eyes open). Wish I had taken a picture of the string... it was rather lame. It was a fun experience, give it a try.

Galloping into 2011

Had a lot of fun new years eve putting the finishing tangles on this horse (8x10). I started with a simple drawing and added the tangles to it.
The horse "midnight" asked for a moon to go behind it, he thought some color would be appropriate. I used a fair amount of pencil shading and an 01 pen to do the tangles. This was really a fun process.

This was an interesting concept for me, and felt very awkward, however as I got into it I could see some wonderful possibilities. I am planning to explore this further.

Sign up at the Elephant Ear Gallery to reserve you seat for the First gathering of the Sumter Zentangle Club. 803-773-2268 Tuesday December 7th, noon till 1pm (or later) Bring an extra fine sharpie, and a sandwich. We will make an ornament and learn a new "tangle". Supplies will cost $5.00. Come by and join the fun. Club will meet at the Elephant Ear Gallery, 672 Bultman Drive, Sumter SC

Holiday Zentangle Ideas

Adorable zentangle ornaments can be made from buying the blank version of these ornaments at Micheal's, and adding your favorite tangles and a splash of color. A great project for kids!












Get ready for the fall season by tangling a pumpkin. This one was made with a purchased white pumpkin and tangles were drawn with a sharpie pen. So much fun to make.

Sumter Artist's Guild Gets a Zentangle Demo

A great time was enjoyed by members of the Sumter Artist's Guild as they learned about the concept of creating a Zentangle, and made an Artist's Trading Card.
